Christina mcdonald

Christina serves as Chief Academic Officer of Music City Academy, leading the school's academic vision, instructional program, assessment strategy, and educator development. A pioneering education leader, she has spent over a decade launching, leading, and transforming schools — including founding Reimagine Prep, the first public charter school in the state of Mississippi.

Christina began her career teaching in Metro Nashville Public Schools before joining KIPP and later becoming a founding teacher at Nashville Prep. She went on to lead schools and leadership teams across Tennessee and Mississippi, most recently serving as Senior Director of Leadership and Principal at Independence Academy, where she increased student growth and led the school's improvement from a D to a B state accountability rating. A founder at heart, Christina is passionate about designing schools that combine high expectations, strong relationships, and exceptional instruction to prepare every student for success in college, career, and life.
